What things are you thankful for? Are we to be thankful for only the pleasant things in our lives? Read I Thessalonians 5:16-18.

APPLICATION
Think of some recent unpleasant circumstances that have come into your life. Were you thankful in the midst of them? In light of this verse should you have been thankful in spite of them? Take time now and thank God for working through these circumstances.
PRAYER
• Ask God for forgiveness for not being thankful in everything.
• Ask God to help you have an attitude of thankfulness.
• Pray that you might see God’s good purpose in difficult situations.
